Replacing ignition coils (N42, N40, N46, N45)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Read out fault memory of DME control unit
•
Switch off ignition
•
Remove ignition coil cover
Illustrations show N42:
Unlock fastener (1) of ignition coil.
Pull off plug (1).
Pull out ignition coil (2).
This procedure is applicable to all ignition coils.
Installation:
The casting on the cylinder head cover or the cylinder head (2)
must be inserted in the opening on the underside (1) of the
rubber seal.
