3 Series E92 316i (N43) COUPE
Important!
Screws can fall into the timing case (risk of damage!).
Release screws (1) of upper chain guide.
Release nuts (2 to 5).
Press upper chain guide (1) in direction of arrow.
Remove bearing shell (2) and set down in neat order on special
tool 11 4 480 .
Release all nuts of bearing shells (E1 to E4) in order (8 to 1) by
a half turn.
Remove all bearing caps and inlet camshaft and set down in neat
order on special tool 11 4 480 .
Important!
Risk of mixing up the inlet and exhaust camshafts.
Identification of exhaust camshaft (A).
Identification of inlet camshaft (E).
RA Removing and installing/replacing inlet camshaft (N43)
