5 Series E34 520i (M50) TOUR
Caution!
During camshaft adjustment, always ensure that the timing
chain is and preload with special tool 11 3 390.
Remove special tool 11 3 240 from cylinder head.
Relieve tension on special tool 11 3 390.
Insert chain tensioner plunger.
Installation:
Insert chain tensioner piston (1) in such a way that the guide
tabs engage in the tensioning rail.
Install spring (2) and bolt (3).
Replace sealing ring.
Install plugs.
Installation:
Replace sealing rings.
For tightening torque, refer to Technical Data
