Leak tests
To ensure that there are no cracks in hidden areas, a leak test should be performed in
a water bath.
Refer to Repair Instructions E36/M41 job position no. 11 12 729
and Repair Instructions E36/M51 job position no. 11 12 729

Workshop findings
If a fault is established the result must be entered on the defective part tag and
warranty claim. Example: "Leaks during water bath test in area of web of cyl. 5" or "oil
leaks in area of ...".
The affected area on the faulty part must be marked clearly. Otherwise it will not be
possible to process the warranty claim.
