Checking camshaft timing (M51)
Removing cylinder head cover,
refer to 11 12 000
Note:
Rotate engine engine-wise until valves on cylinder 6 are in
TDC position.
(Cylinder 1: working stroke)
Hold crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300.
Caution!
Do not turn the engine back.
Remove special tool prior to operating engine.
Check camshaft settings with special tool 11 3 320.
Note:
Special tool 11 3 320 is provided for adjusting timing
intervals when using new or existing chains up to a mileage of
20 000 km (12 000 miles).
