Bridge terminals 30 and 87 on relay carrier using special tool
61 3 050. Switch ignition on.
Inspection procedure for all models:
Operating special tool and reading intank pump pressure on
tester,
refer to Technical Data.
Inspection procedure for all models:
Re-install fuel pump relay (2). Run engine at idling speed and read
pressure on tester,
refer to Technical Data.
Inspection procedure for all models:
Increase engine speed to 4800 rpm and observe pressure on
tester,
refer to Technical Data.
The delivery pressure must drop considerably at higher engine
speed due to the suction effect of the injection pump.
Caution!
Catch fuel in a suitable container when removing special tool
16 1 300.
Installation:
Reconnect pipe only with sealing rings in perfect condition. To
simplify assembly operation, coat seals with acid-free grease.
