Replacing and adjusting speed sensor (M51)
Interrogate fault memory in DDE control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Press radiator hose to one side at engine inlet to permit viewing of
mark (1) on timing case cover. Rotate engine enginewise until
mark on vibration damper (2) is aligned with mark (1) on timing
case cover.
Top view: radiator hose bent to one side.
Mark (1) on timing case cover must be aligned with mark (2) on
vibration damper.
Installation on speed sensor (2) below the starter motor (1).
