Use of spring clamp 31 3 120
Situation:
To avoid damaging the coil springs, always use the protective inserts on the clamping
claws.
Always follow the Repair Instructions precisely when removing and installing the coil
springs.
Please refer to Repair Instructions job item

Procedure:
Check the geometry of clamping claw 31 3 123 using test gauge 00 9 440. Return any
clamping claws that have incorrect dimensions to BMW. These will be replaced by new
ones.
The test gauge and instructions for using it will be sent to you free of charge.
