Update for "BAT 121" battery tester
All model series
Situation:
Note:
Only applies to "BAT 121" battery testers delivered up to 12/2003.
All "BAT 121" battery testers from 01/2004 have the new software installed at the factory.
To assess the battery condition more precisely, an update is necessary to the "BAT 121"
battery tester used by the dealer organisation.
The new software includes a percentage display of the starting power in the battery tester
display, which allows the user to make a better assessment of the battery being tested,
especially at the limits of measurement.
At the same time, the alternator test is discontinued with this update. This test should be
conducted using the BMW diagnosis system.
The technical data, the application and the menu guidance of the "BAT 121" remain
unchanged. Please refer to Service Information bulletin 2 07 02 (904).
Procedure:
The update is made with TIS CD version 04/2004.
How to download the new software and the revised operating instructions for the battery
tester are described below. Please refer to Enclosure 1.
