New battery charger

Situation: 

Investigations have shown that the service life of a battery is critically influenced by the way
in which it is cared for. Batteries which are excessively discharged are damaged so
severely by just a few days spent idle that there is a great probability of a complete failure
within a period of 12 months. 
For this reason, it is vitally important that a vehicle's battery is continuously
charged/recharged the whole time it is in the workshop.

The new "DBL 430 battery charge computer" has been developed in collaboration with
Deutronic. The unit can be used either as battery charger or as an auxiliary power source. It
is secured against short and open circuits, protected against excessive temperatures and
overvoltage, and can be connected to the vehicle's electrical circuit.

The mains fuse is located on the mains connector plug on the unit and is easily accessible
from the outside.

The mains and charger cables are connected by plug connectors and can therefore be
exchanged at any time.

When the battery is fully charged, the charge computer automatically switches to maintain-
charge operation and can switch back to recharge operation as necessary. This prevents
the battery from overcharging. Moreover, the unit will recognise if the battery is defective or
sulphatised, 
and will give an appropriate warning in the display.

The charger is suitable for buffer operation on the vehicle's electrical circuit. It is connected
to the charge points on the vehicle or directly to the battery.

Manufacturer's warranty: 18 months

Repair: 
The charge computer should be returned directly to Deutronic. The address is printed on
the reverse of the unit. To prevent lengthy delays, for instance at customs, the return
should be reported to Deutronic either by phone or fax.

Repair time (goods in/goods out) usually take 10 days, including 
a comprehensive final inspection.

Should the repair cost exceed 30 % of the price of a new unit, an estimate will be issued
prior to the repair being carried out.

Note:

The charge computer is available (at extra cost) with 5 m charger cables.

Store tools will only be supplied to order.
