New body measurement and repair system 

All models

Situation: 

A new, additional body measurement and repair system is recommended for more efficient
body repairs. As this system does not use model-specific straightening attachments, future
investment costs will be kept to a minimum.

This system can be used to measure our vehicles. Used in conjunction with the flexible
fixture system, the system can also be used for repair work (partial repairs) and alignment
work on the vehicles. The use of a universal data set allows non-BMW vehicles (e.g. used
cars) to be measured and repaired.

This measurement system provides the best possible conditions for the future, as various
additions are planned, for example additional measurements. Statements will then be
possible concerning accident damage, which until now could not be made using the sets of
alignment brackets.

For checking, only the measuring system is required. An additional measuring trolley may
also be necessary. To perform the repair, the measuring system, a straightening bench and
the universal alignment and fixture systems are required.

To make the changeover form the straightening attachment system to the measuring
system easier, a number of adaptations have been developed for the existing CELETTE
and CARBENCH straightening benches. For example, a measuring section (measuring
system component) is fitted to at least three cross members.

To make it easier to select the correct components, packages have been created which
greatly simplify the task of ordering. These include different components and adaptation
pieces to allow a simple allocation to the correct alignment bench. These packages are
specially matched to BMW vehicles.

Agreement has been made with the manufacturer CAR-O-LINER so that the construction
and training in the system are included in the purchase price. This can take up to two days.
More detailed training is available at extra cost. Please refer to the responsible Service
Point.

Note:

The straightening attachment sets of the current suppliers will remain available until
further notice.

The measuring system requires a PC system with a printer.

These tools will only be supplied to order as store tools.
