5 Series E39 528i (M52) SAL
Installation:
Pay attention to adapter sleeves (1 and 2).
If necessary, withdraw adapter sleeves from transmission housing
and install new adapter sleeves in engine block.
Installation:
The sheet metal flywheel is equipped with three recesses for
the torque converter retaining tabs.
When joining together the engine and transmission, the three
retaining tabs on the torque converter must be aligned with
the three recesses in the sheet metal flywheel.
Installation:
Bore on driver must point to center of aperture in cover plate.
Caution!
When joining up engine and transmission, ensure ease of
movement of torque converter.
Failure to comply with this requirement leads to secondary
damage on the automatic transmission.
If the three retaining tabs on the torque converter are not
aligned with the recesses on the metal flywheel, cranking of
the torque converter or engine after joining is no longer
possible and will result in damage.
