5 Series E39 528i (M52) SAL
Detach retainer (1) and press piston rod off pin.
Release nuts (fastened with 4 nuts in cars up to model year 98).
Installation:
Grease pin.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque, 35 11 1AZ
Remove the clutch pedal switch.
Release screw (1) and nut (2).
Installation:
Replace self-locking nut (2).
Tightening torque, 35 11 1AZ
If necessary, remove snap ring (1).
Detach over-center helper spring from pin.
Installation:
Grease pin.
Installation:
Arrangement of over-center helper spring:
1 = Spring holder
2 = Over-center helper spring
3 = Spacer sleeve
4 = Compensating spring
