Fault 07 Overheating protection

Test precondition:

Independent parking heater not in heating mode or after-running mode.

Wires from heater control unit to independent parking heater control unit O.K.

Instruction:

Switch on independent parking heater via MID or on-board monitor. 

Question

Measure

Is battery voltage applied at
connector strip plug connector
X01017 between Pin 9 and vehicle
ground?

No

Refer to Diagnosis Program.
(Wire from heater control unit to
independent parking heater or
heating control unit defective)

Yes

Is battery voltage applied at
connector strip plug connector
X01017 between Pin 7 and vehicle
ground?

No

Overheating protection is active.
In this case, check:
Bleeding coolant system,
refer to 64 12 . . .
temperature sensor,
refer to Fault 05
circulation pump,
refer to Fault 04
(and layout of water hoses (kink))

Yes

Overheating protection is not active.
Replace combustion air blower,
refer to 64 12 530
