Adapter lead for airbag ZAE/MRS
E38, E39
Situation:
Adapter lead no. 65 7 100 is used in conjunction with the 88-pin test adapter no. 61 4 410
for troubleshooting the new ZAE/MRS (Central Airbag Release Unit / Multiple Restraint
System) airbag system to be introduced on the E38 and E39 in spring 1996 and also to be
used with future airbag systems. This adapter lead permits troubleshooting on all vehicles,
irrespective of which airbag version has been installed.
The adapter lead and test adapter should be attached to the wiring harness instead of the
control unit.
Please follow the DIS instructions when taking measurements.
The relevant label for the cable cupboard has been included.
Procedure:
Offer tools will be supplied automatically in accordance with the current tools agreement.
