5 Series E39 535i (M62) SAL
Release nut at top engine support on left side.
Installation:
Replace nut.
Detach steering spindle from steering gear.
This task is described in the work step Removing and installing
steering gear,
refer to 32 13 060.
Raise engine with special tool 00 0 200 at front suspension lug
max. 25 mm.
Note:
With transmission removed, engine must also be raised on
flywheel end approx. an additional 10 mm.
Release screw connection at exhaust manifold.
Note:
Detach exhaust manifold from studs. Raise front exhaust
manifold as high as possible and past end positions to
steering gear and mating surface of hydraulic screw
connection, feed out towards bottom.
Installation:
Replace seals.
Beads of seals face the exhaust manifold.
Coat thread with copper paste -CRC-.
Replace nuts.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 62 1AZ.
