5 Series E39 540i (M62) TOUR
Position special tool 33 4 140 / 151 / 155 / 156 / on
recesses in rubber mount while ensuring correct support on bush
of rear axle carrier.
Use a hot air blower with outlet temperature of max. 600
°
C, heat
bearing bush for approx. 2 minutes (equivalent to approx. 80
°
C
on bearing bush) and remove the rubber mount.
Caution!
With rubber mount installed, stop (1) of center sleeve must
face in direction of longitudinal vehicle axis (F) and recesses
for positioning special tool must face in transverse vehicle
direction.
Coat rubber mount with Circolight anti-friction agent, refer to
BMW Parts Service.
Draw rubber mount firmly home with special tool 33 4 153 / 155
/ 156 / 157.
