5 Series E39 540i (M62) TOUR
Screw on special tool 36 1 410/421 (adapter for rim support)
with special tool 36 1 410/413 (rim support).
Caution!
Different rim supports are required for the rims of E38/3 safety
vehicles and E39 Protection.
Place special tool 36 1 410/413 (rim support) on rim and align in
direction to lifter mount.
Screw on special tool 36 1 410/413 (rim support) with special
tool 36 1 410/414 (screw) through opening in rim with special
tool 36 1 410/411 (rim mount).
Tightening torque 20 Nm.
Coat following areas generously with tire fitting lubricant:
•
Rim flange
•
Rim shoulder
•
Hump
•
Exposed drop center area
•
Upper bead area of support ring
RA Replacing a tire (removing and installing support ring)
