In case of moisture ingress (1), the
component must be replaced.
In case of this complaint, sanding down
the faulty areas will not achieve the
desired result as this will not ensure
that the ingress will not continue to
spread.
In case of damage to the carbon
fibre (1) in the resin system, the
component must be replaced.
The surface of the fabric will be
damaged further by sanding. A change
in the visual appearance cannot be
ruled out.
Another risk is that the fibres of the
resin system could pitch, forming
capillaries to the base. The result of this
happening is moisture absorption.

The surface of the varnish is completely intact as a base.
Reworking the component may be
performed for the following damage:

Scratches and scoring (1)
(car wash, bushes, etc.)
-
Minor stone chips
-
Dents
Important:
The basic condition necessary for successful reworking is for the UV-proof varnish
not to be excessively sanded during the repair.
To perform reworking:
-
Lightly sand the whole area of the CFK roof, taking the criteria stated in the "Situation"
section into account.
