Removing and installing/replacing exhaust
gas recirculation cooler (EGR cooler) (M67)
Necessary preliminary tasks: E38
•
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
•
Remove coolant expansion tank
•
Remove intake air manifold
Necessary preliminary tasks: E65
•
Drain coolant from radiator
•
Remove intake air manifold
Warning!
Danger of scalding!
Only perform these tasks on an engine that has cooled down.
E38:
Disconnect all plug connections of engine wiring harness (1) in
V-compartment.
E65:
Release and detach plug connections of heater plugs along the
line shown.
Release and detach plug connections at control unit and wiring
harness.
