Adjusting camshaft timing (M73)
(re Oper. No. 11 31 005)
Before carrying out adjustment work, the camshaft timing
must be checked,
refer to 11 31 005
Note:
Timing case cover (1) must be removed when tightening
down screw connection on sprocket wheel.The timing case
cover (1) and the timing case (2) share a gasket (3) in the
lower section. This must be replaced before reassembly.The
timing case (2) must be removed before the gasket can be
replaced.
Removal and installation of the timing case, replacement of the
gasket and adjustment of the timing diagram are described in the
section on removing and installing the upper timing case,
refer to 11 14 102
