Removing and installing / replacing all fingers
(M73)

Remove both cylinder head covers,

refer to 11 12 004

Remove all spark plugs,

refer to 12 12 011

Unscrew bolts. Remove oil line (1).

Installation:

Install hollow screw (1) for oil line in correct position. Oil
injector bores in oil line point towards fingers.

Tightening torque,

refer to Technical Data 11 42 7AZ

Rotate engine on central screw engine-wise until cams on
camshaft point vertically upwards.

Press down valve with special tool 11 4 130 and lift out finger.

Note:

Place fingers to one side in orderly fashion.

If necessary, replace camshaft,

refer to 11 31 011 / 11 31 015
