About the X5 (E53)
The E53 X5, made from 1999 to 2006, was BMW's first SUV. It was developed just after BMW bought Land Rover and shares parts with the Range Rover L322, such as hill descent control, and with the E39 5 Series, including its engines.
What these manuals cover
- Petrol: the 3.0i (M54) and the V8 4.4i, 4.6is and 4.8is (M62, N62).
- Diesel: the 3.0d (M57).
Tip: these are BMW factory manuals, listed by model, engine and body rather than by year. The code in brackets is the engine (M54, N52 and so on), and the last word is the body: SAL saloon, TOUR Touring (estate), COUPE, CONVER convertible, COMP Compact (hatchback), ROADST roadster, OFFRD for the X models. The E39 5 Series manuals cover many of the same engines.
