X Series E53 X5 3.0d (M57) OFFRD
Detach plug (1) from oil level sensor.
Installation:
If the oil sump is replaced, the oil level sensor must be converted
with a new gasket to the new oil sump.
Release oil sump screws on transmission and engine sides.
Remove oil sump.
Installation:
If the oil sump is replaced, the oil level sensor must be converted
with a new gasket to the new oil sump.
Remove gasket (1).
Clean sealing faces (2).
In area of joints (1), apply a bead of Drei Bond 1209 sealing
compound (refer to BMW Parts Service) approx. 3 mm high and
2 mm wide.
Caution!
Oil sump gasket must not be lubricated.
Observe different tightening torques of M6 and M8 screws.
Installation:
·
Install oil sump with a new gasket.
·
Insert all oil sump screws.
·
Insert screws on transmission side until contact is made with
screw heads.
·
Tighten down screws on engine side.
