About the Century
Buick used the Century name on mid-size cars from 1973 to 2005. The fifth generation (1982–1996) moved to GM's front-wheel-drive A platform, and the sixth (1997–2005) was replaced, together with the Regal, by the LaCrosse.
What these manuals cover
- 1982–1996: (fifth generation) the 2.2 and 2.5-litre fours, the 2.8, 3.0, 3.3 and 3.8-litre V6s and the 4.3 diesel V6
- 1998–2005: (sixth generation) the 3.1-litre V6
Tip: the 1982–1996 Century shares its A platform with the Chevrolet Celebrity and Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera.
