Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair
With Plastic Fittings
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
Tools Required: J 34730 Fuel Pressure Gauge
WARNING: Relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing fuel system components In order to reduce the fire of fire and personal injury.
After relieving the system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines or connections. In order to reduce the
chance of personal Injury, cover the regulator and the fuel line fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting. This will catch any fuel that may
leak out. Place the towel In an approved container when the disconnection is complete.
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Release Procedure.
2. Remove the retainer from the quick-connect fitting if applicable.
Description
3. Grasp both sides of the quick-connect fitting. Twist the female connector 1/4 turn in each direction in order to loosen any dirt within the
quick-connect fitting.
WARNING: Wear safety glasses when using compressed air in order to prevent eye injury.
4. Blow any dirt out of the quick-connect fitting using compressed air.
5. Squeeze the plastic retainer release tabs.
