Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair
ACCUMULATOR REPLACEMENT
TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the evaporator hose from the accumulator cover.
3. Remove the accumulator cover.
4. Remove the compressor hose nut from the accumulator.
5. Remove the compressor hose from the accumulator.
6. Remove and discard the sealing washer from the compressor hose.
7. Loosen the accumulator tube nut.
8. Remove the accumulator tube from the accumulator.
9. Remove and discard the O-rings from the accumulator tube.
10. Remove the accumulator bracket bolt.
