Radiator Cooling Fan Motor: Testing and Inspection
If cooling fan runs with ignition switch Off, replace cooling fan relay.
1. With ambient air temperature above 70°F, open all doors, start car and set A/C mode selector in Max position. Cooling fan should turn on.
2. With engine coolant below operating temperature, move A/C mode selector to Off position. Cooling fan should turn off in a short period of time.
3. Run engine at fast idle for several minutes. Cooling fan should come on before coolant temperature indicator comes on or coolant temperature
display shows H.
4. Turn ignition switch Off. Cooling fan turns off when engine temperature lowers.
