Front Door Exterior Handle: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION:  Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver's door. When operated, the Express Down Feature allows
the door window to drop very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.

1. Disable the SIR system if equipped with the SIR side impact system. Refer to Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.
2. Remove the front door trim panel.
3. Remove the front door water deflector.
4. Remove the front door lock from the clip.
5. Remove the front door lock tamper switch electrical connector.
6. Remove the front door outside handle nuts.
7. Remove the front door lock cylinder plate.
8. Remove the front door outside handle clip.
9. Remove the front door outside handle.

10. Remove the front door gasket from the handle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the front door gasket to the handle.
2. Install the front door outside handle.
3. Install the front door outside handle clip.
4. Install the front door lock cylinder plate.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
