Catera V6-3.0L VIN R (1997)
Important: Once the piston is bottomed into the caliper housing bore the dust boot will seat itself in the machined channel on the piston. Caliper
is now ready for installation.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Ensure the front brake caliper bracket mounting surfaces (1) are clean and lubricated.
2. Install the inner and outer pads (1) into caliper bracket (2) if removed.

The inner pad with the insulator should be installed in front brake caliper bracket on the inside of the rotor facing caliper piston.
3. Install caliper (1) over rotor (2) and caliper bracket.
4. Install new guide pin bolts.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the new guide pin bolts to 3O Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the front brake hose if removed.
6. Install the new seals if removed.
7. Install the front brake hose bolt if removed.

Tighten the front brake hose bolt to 4O Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
8. Bleed brake hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding in Hydraulic Brakes.
9. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and wheel.
10. Lower the vehicle.
Brake Caliper Replacement (Rear)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear disc brake pads. Refer to Brake Pads Replacement (Rear).
