Parking Brake Shoe: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Release the parking brake if applied.
Important: Replace the parking brake shoes in complete axle sets only.
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General information.
3. Remove the rear brake caliper. Refer to Disc Brakes.
4. Remove the rotor set screw (1).
5. Remove the rear brake rotor from the hub.
6. Remove the parking brake cable return spring (2) from the rear parking brake lever (3) and backing plate.
7. Remove the parking brake cable (1) from the rear parking brake lever (3).
