Timing Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT  

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. 
2. Remove intake air resonator. 
3. Remove the front timing belt cover. 
4. Remove the timing belt. 
5. Remove the timing belt tensioner bracket bolts.
6. Remove the timing belt tensioner bracket.

INSTALL OR CONNECT  

1. Install the timing belt tensioner bracket. 
2. Install the timing belt tensioner bracket bolts. Tighten the timing belt tensioner bracket bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the timing belt. 
4. Install the front timing belt cover. 
5. Install the intake air resonator. 
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Reprogram the applicable accessories.
