Ride Height Sensor: Service and Repair

CAUTION:  Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be
OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal,
also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its
components.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. 
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ALC sensor.
4. Unclip the wires from the rear axle cradle.
5. Release the self-locking tabs to remove the link rod from the sensor arm.
6. Remove the ALC sensor bolts.
7. Remove the ALC sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the ALC sensor.
2. Install the ALC sensor bolts.

Tighten the ALC sensor bolts to 14 Nm (124 inch lbs.). 

3. Secure the link rod to the ALC sensor arm with the locking tabs.
4. Route the ALC sensor wiring to the rear axle cradle.
5. Clip the ALC sensor wiring to the rear axle cradle.
6. Reconnect the electrical connection.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
9. Reprogram the ALC system. Using the scan tool follow instructions on the display screen.

10. Check for DTCs.
11. Verify system operation.
