Notice: Failure to follow this procedure could result in severe engine damage.
Notice: After timing belt is removed, never turn camshaft and crankshaft independently. If turned, interference may occur among pistons and valves,
and parts related to pistons and valves may be damaged.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Caution: Refer to battery disconnect Caution in Caution and Notices.
2. Remove the intake air resonator.
3. Remove the timing belt cover.
4. Remove the harmonic balancer bolts.
5. Remove the harmonic balancer from the crankshaft drive gear.
6. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise to 60 degrees Before Top Dead Center (BTDC).
