Air Filter Element: Service and Repair

Air Filter Element/Air Cleaner Assembly 

Removal Procedure

Notice: Numbers in text correspond to numbered components in image.

1. Loosen the hose clamp that is holding the air duct to the air cleaner housing.

2. Release the retaining clips around the perimeter of the air cleaner housing. Use of excessive force may cause the clips to fall out of the air cleaner

base.

3. Lift the air cleaner lid. Then, disengage the lid (1) from the air duct.

4. Remove the air filter element (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Clean out all traces of dirt and other contaminants from the air cleaner base and lid.

2. Place the air filter element (2) into the air cleaner lid (1).

3. Install the air cleaner lid and the filter element back into place as a unit, engaging the air duct as the assembly is moved into position.

4. Snap the retaining clips into place.

5. Ensure that the air duct is properly fitted to the air cleaner lid.

6. Tighten the clamp at the air duct.
