REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Theft Deterrent Module Replacement: Removal Procedure

1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.
2. Remove the upper steering column shroud screw covers.
3. Remove the upper steering column shroud screws.
4. Remove the upper steering column shroud.
5. Carefully unscrew the steering wheel tilt lever from the tilt mechanism. Use a non-marring tool to remove the steering wheel tilt lever if the lever is

coated with locking compound.

6. Remove the rubber protective cover from the lock cylinder.
7. Remove the lower steering column shroud screws.
8. Remove the lower steering column shroud.
9. Remove the theft deterrent module (1).

10. Remove the immobilizer control module wiring harness connector.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Theft Deterrent Module Replacement: Removal Procedure

1. Install the immobilizer control module wiring harness connector.
2. Install the theft deterrent module (1).
3. Install the lower steering column shroud.
4. Install the lower steering column shroud screws.

Tighten
Tighten the lower steering column shroud screws until fully seated. Ensure not to strip the lower steering column shroud screws.

5. Install the rubber protective cover to the lock cylinder.
