Wheel Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Wheel Speed Sensor Ring Replacement (Front)

The front wheel speed sensor ring is an integral part of the front hub. Remove the front brake rotor from the front hub to inspect the sensor ring. The
front hub must be replaced when replacing the sensor ring. Refer to Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement in Front Suspension.

Inspect the toothed sensor rings for missing and/or inspect for cracked teeth. Missing and/or damaged teeth can result in poor sensor signals.

Toothed sensor rings should show no evidence of contact with the wheel speed sensor. Determine the cause and correct if contact is evident.

Excessive runout of the sensor ring can cause erratic wheel speed sensor signals. Replace the wheel bearing and/or replace the front hub if any
signs of sensor ring runout is evident.
