Impact Sensor: Service and Repair

Description

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Disable SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System under Air Bags Arming and Disarming.

2. Remove front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in Doors.

3. Remove front door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door in Doors.

4. Disconnect inflatable restraint side impact sensor electrical connector.

5. Remove two Torx (R) headed screws.

6. Remove sensor from mounting plate.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Description

1. Install sensor to mounting plate.

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precations.

2. Install two Torx (R) headed screws.

TIGHTEN

Tighten Inflatable restraint side impact screws to 5 N.m (45 lb. in).
