Starter Motor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Starter Motor Replacement: Removal Procedure

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. 
2. Raise the vehicle and suitably support.

Remove the following starter motor lead components:

The terminal nuts (1, 2)

^

The washers

^

The battery cable terminal lead

^

The starter solenoid terminal lead

4. Remove the RH catalytic converter.

5. Remove the RH engine mount nuts (1).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the resonance chamber to throttle body ducts.
8. Install the J26467-A with the J28467-450 adapters to the RH of the engine.
9. Raise the RH side of the engine about 38 mm (1.5 in).

10. Raise the vehicle.
11. Remove the engine mount (4) from the engine mount bracket and the cradle.
12. Remove the engine mount bracket bolts.
13. Reposition the bracket.
