Wheel Fastener: Service and Repair
Installing and Tightening Wheel Bolts
Perform the following to avoid wheel distortion and to maintain a concentric assembly:
1. Snug the wheel bolts gradually.
2. Use the criss-cross tightening sequence shown to tighten the wheel bolts to the specified torque setting.
Use the J 39544 or use a torque wrench to tighten the wheel bolts to 109 Nm (80 ft. lbs.).
Excessive torque can warp the brake rotors. Excessive torque can damage the tapered wheel bolt seat of the wheel.
