Engine Block Heater: Service and Repair
Coolant Heater Replacement
With RPO Code K05
Coolant Heater Replacement (K05 See: Application and ID)
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the heated oxygen sensor.
3. Disconnect the coolant heater power supply cord from the coolant heater.
Important: A residual amount of coolant will drain from the engine block.
4. Remove the coolant heater and seal from the engine block.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the seal to the coolant heater.
Notice:
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the coolant heater into the engine block.
Tighten the coolant heater to 60 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the coolant heater power supply cord to the coolant heater.
4. Install the heated oxygen sensor.
5. Fill the cooling system.
