Condition
Some customers may comment on a no reverse condition.
Cause
The cause may be an internal fault in the TCC PWM solenoid.
Correction
Follow the service procedure below for diagnosis and repair.
1.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2.
Place a suitable drain pan under the transmission fluid drain plug.
3.
Remove the transmission fluid drain plug.
4.
Inspect the transmission fluid for signs of overheating:

If the transmission fluid has signs of overheating and/or a burnt smell, the transmission is going to require internal repairs.

If the transmission fluid is "normal" color and no burnt odor, continue with the next step.
5.
Remove the transmission fluid pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid/Filter Replacement.
6.
Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector (1) from the TCC PWM solenoid (2).
