CTS V8-5.7L VIN P (2004)
10. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolts.
11. Remove the timing chain from the camshaft sprocket, and allow the chain to rest on the crankshaft sprocket.
12. Remove the camshaft retainer bolts and retainer.
13. Remove the camshaft.
14. Important: Rear cover removal is not required, if the camshaft bearings are not being replaced.
If the camshaft bearings need replacement, remove the rear engine cover and gasket.
15. Remove the camshaft bearings if required.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the NEW camshaft bearings, if previously removed.
2. Install the rear engine cover.
3. Install the camshaft, the camshaft retainer, and the bolts.
