Caution
Ensure that the mastic material is NOT applied beyond the edge of the latch housing-to-door surface (1). Do NOT apply mastic material around
the drain hole or latch opening for the striker, to ensure proper latch operation.

5. Apply the mastic material to the latch. Refer to the illustration.

1. Center the mastic material above the connector area of the latch (2).

Starting point (connector area) of where to apply the mastic material to the side of the latch.

Latch Cover-to-Housing Seam

The area of the latch that the mastic material must be applied.

2. Apply the mastic material over the latch cover-to-housing seam in the area shown in the illustration.

3. Rub out the mastic material over the latch cover-to-housing seam to ensure a good tape seal.

6. Install the door latches. Refer to Front Side Door Latch Replacement in SI.
