Removal Procedure

1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LP1, LY7) (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery
and Air Induction/Fuel Injector/Service and Repair/Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement)Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LLT) (See:

2. Remove the engine coolant inlet pipe. Refer to Engine Coolant Inlet Pipe Replacement (See: Cooling System/Coolant Line/Hose/Service and
Repair).
3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
4. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield from the exhaust manifold.
