Oil Pan: Service and Repair
1982---85 V8-250 EXC. ELDORADO & SEVILLE
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2.
Drain engine oil and remove oil filter.
3.
Remove flywheel cover and support struts.
4.
Disconnect exhaust pipe from manifold and remove catalytic converter bracket bolt.
5.
Remove oil pan nuts and bolts, then lower exhaust pipe and remove oil pan from vehicle.
6.
Reverse procedure to install. Use suitable RTV sealer in sufficient quantities when installing pan. Torque pan attaching bolts and nuts to 11 ft. lbs.
on 1982 models and 15 ft. lbs. on 1983---85 models.
