Service Heat Element Removal Procedure

Important:
Before installing the service heat element, verify that the resistance values are within the specific range. Refer to the table shown.
Important:
It is highly recommended that this repair be done by a sublet trim repair facility. Please provide a copy of this bulletin to the repair shop.
Important:
Some separation of the foam is to be expected during the trim cover removal procedure.
1.
Carefully remove the seat trim cover (back/cushion) with the non-functioning heat element. Refer to the appropriate seat trim cover removal
procedure in the Seats sub-section of the Service Manual.
2.
Place the trim cover on a clean flat surface with the inside facing out.
3.
Use scissors or an equivalent tool to carefully remove any excess glue and foam attached to the trim cover.
4.
Use a razor blade or an equivalent sharp tool to carefully cut the stitches that join the two piece center insert (1) to the trim cover (2).
