Tighten the inner nuts on the battery terminal and the starter motor terminal to 8 N.m (70 lb in). If the nuts are not properly tightened, the starter may tail
later due to terminal or cap damage.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Connect the solenoid switch lead.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 3 N.m (26 lb in).

2. Install the battery cable nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 8 N.m (70 lb in).

3. Install the starter motor.
4. Install the starter motor mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

5. Install the intake manifold.
6. Connect the positive battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

7. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
