Shift Cable: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the cable end cap from the transmission park/neutral position switch lever.
2. Remove the cable from the bracket by prying on the lock button to the unlocked position.
3. Remove the left I/P sound insulator. Refer to Close-out/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
4. Remove the console center trim panel. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

5. Remove the shift control cable from the floor shift assembly.

6. Remove the cable from the vehicle.
