Fuel Rail ID

An eight digit identification number is stamped on the rear fuel rail. Refer to this number if servicing or part replacement is required.

CLEANING FUEL RAIL ASSEMBLY

Before removal, the fuel rail assembly may be cleaned with a spray type engine cleaner, such as AC-Delco X-30A or equivalent, following the
package directions. Do not immerse fuel rails in liquid cleaning solvents.

When servicing the fuel rail assembly, be careful to prevent dirt or other contaminants from entering the fuel passages. Fittings should be
capped and hoses plugged during servicing.

Whenever the fuel system is opened for service, the Oring seals used with related components should be replaced.

NOTE:  Support fuel rail to avoid damaging components.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Negative battery terminal.
2. Air cleaner upper housing.
3. Relieve fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Tank/Service and Repair/Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
4. Power steering line bracket.
5. Power steering pump, tensioner, and bracket assembly attaching bolts.
6. Vacuum lines for the pressure regulator, brake booster, MAP sensor, PCV, EGR valve and EGR solenoid.
7. Accelerator cable, cruise control cable and bracket.
